Dynamic Duos Masquerade Ball
The Dynamic Duos Masquerade Ball is a parent-child dance party at Sola Fide. This year it’s happening on Friday, February 27th. It’s hosted by the Sola Fide Student Council, and is open to students in 3K - 4th grade. The event runs from 6pm to 8pm. More information and a sign-up form can be found at this link: https://rb.gy/4ft72n
Track and Field
This year’s track season starts on WEDNESDAY, February 25. The first three practices (2/25, 3/4, and 3/5) will be open to anyone. After those initial dates, practices will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Mondays and Wednesdays will be for students 2nd grade and older who also plan to participate in track meets. Thursday practices will remain open to anyone. No signup is required for the first three practices. An official sign-up and a team fee will be required to continue after March 5th. More details on the season plan are available at school.solafide.com/trackandfield
International Fair
On Saturday, March 7th, the International Fair returns to Sola Fide. We’ll gather in the great hall from 4pm to 6pm to share food, history, family, and more. It’s an afternoon of sharing the cultures that contribute to make Sola Fide the vibrant and diverse place that it is. If you want to just attend and learn, you are more than welcome. The event really pops when lots of people share a cultural element (from near or far) that reminds them of home. (West African families are most definitely encouraged to have a Jollof Rice Showdown).
The Independent Kids (I CAN) Challenge
Last week, Sola Fide’s students received a challenge from their teachers. The Independent Kids Challenge pushes kids to try new things, grow in their independence, and celebrate their successes with their peers. The faculty poured a lot of time and thought into ways that we could get kids to reach their potential in some non-academic ways. If you haven’t seen this paper yet, ask your child’s teacher for an email copy. We’re looking forward to a great three weeks of building skills and building one another up.
Science Fair
This year’s Science Fair will feature live presentations from kids in Second through Eighth Grade. The event is Thursday, March 19th at 7pm. Mark your calendars, and get ready to ask lots of questions of our young scientists!
Grandparents’ Day
Grandparents’ Day is Friday, March 20th. It’s a half day of school and features kid-grandparent activities and a grandparent social lunch. Please send the word out to the grandparents in your families. We’ll be sending out an RSVP soon.
