Christmas at Sola Fide

This year’s Sacred Christmas Celebration is Thursday, December 18th at 6:30pm. SFA’s students have learned songs and Bible verses that tell the story of what Christ did for us in his coming at Christmas. We hope to fill up Sola Fide’s sanctuary that evening for a wonderful event.

Students are asked to arrive in their classrooms at 6:10pm. Instrumental musicians should arrive at 5:55pm. Traffic will be nasty on Scenic HWY, Grayson HWY, Sugarloaf PKWY, and just about every other road between Athens and Alabama, so please plan accordingly!

Parents’ Night Out

Saturday evening is Parents’ Night Out. Drop off your child for a fun-filled evening at Sola Fide! We will serve a pizza dinner and snacks. Students will have the opportunity to participate in games, crafts, story-time, music, and end the night by watching a movie.

This event is free and open to all children 4 year old (potty trained) through 4th grade. Students must register ahead of the event to attend.

We are also inviting older students to help with the babysitting work.

Music Recital

On Monday right after school (December 15th at 3:50pm) there will be a small music recital in the Great Hall for the instrumental musicians who aren’t playing on Thursday night. (If your child is playing, his or her teacher has contacted you.) We would love it if some of our parents and students stayed on campus for a bit on Monday to support these young musicians!

Georgia SSO (GASSO) Program Deadline

If you’d like to support Sola Fide and then get your money back a year later, then the GASSO program is right for you. Because of the structure and popularity of the program, the pledge deadline each year is December 31. This program has the capability to radically transform the financial future of Sola Fide and to radically transform the lives of hundreds of students. If you have ANY questions about the program, please reach out to Mr. Schmiege. At the very least, try creating an account and making a pledge of $50. The place to create an account and make a pledge is georgiasso.com

Ski Trip

Sola Fide’s sister churches in the South Atlantic District are joining forces for another youth ski trip. This year’s ski trip is February 6-8th, 2026. Find more information here: https://sa.wels.net/ski-trip .

Sola Fide has two additional policies to note because of the scope of the trip:

  • Students in grades 5 and 6 must have a parent join the trip as a chaperone.

  • We have found it easiest to eat as a whole group, so students will be billed an additional $75 meal fee.

If you have questions about the trip or about these policies, please reach out to Miss Van Orman or Mr. Schmiege.
