Lesson Basics
Sola Fide offers individual instrument lessons for students in our school. These happen either right before, right after, or during the regular school day. The specific timing depends on how all the different schedules fit together.
Each student will be scheduled for between 29 and 33 lessons each school year. Lessons are 25 minutes each and happen once each week. When we build the schedule, we will let you know which day of the week.
Some students will start the week of August 11th, and the remainder of students will star the week of August 18th, so please complete the sign-up ASAP.

Cost
Piano, Trombone, and Flute - $600 for one school year worth of lessons and lesson books
Violin and Guitar - $875 for one school year worth of lessons and lesson books.
The default setting is to split the cost into either 9 or 10 payments, on the same day that your tuition is due. If you’d like to pay in a lump sum, contact Mr. Schmiege.
We ask that you commit to one school year of lessons at a time. It will take a handful of lessons and LOTS OF PRACTICE before a student starts to sound good at a new instrument, but STICKING TO IT, exercising GRIT and working hard is WORTH IT!
Instrument
It is the parents’ responsibility to acquire an instrument for their child to play. We will do our best to give you guidance and direction for sourcing the right instrument for your child.
Practice
Different kids have different abilities when it comes to practicing an instrument. Younger kids might not have the attention span for a long practice, but attention span is something that can grow! Music practice is a great way to grow that skill.
A good goal is that once kids hit about 4th grade, they are able to practice five times a week for 30 minutes at a time.
If your child isn’t yet ready for that level of investment, it’s ok, but the more they practice, the faster they will build their skill.
Recitals and Performance Opportunities
Older/advanced students usually play during our Annual Sacred Christmas Celebration.
All students play in the end-of-year recital in April.
Many students work toward the opportunity to play a song before Friday Morning Chapel.
Some highly proficient students are afforded the opportunity to accompany singers in Friday Morning Chapel.
