Two School Musicals

This year, we have opted to do two different school musicals. On Friday, May 13th, the 3rd-8th grade students will be presenting an original adaptation of CS Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. On Friday, May 20th, the 3K-2nd grade students will present an original musical entitled, The Sola Fidebury Tales. The older students will present their musical at 7:00pm. The younger students’ performance is at 6:30. We’re looking forward to seeing the skills and talents of our students on display! Mark your calendars!

Sola Fide is having a CARNIVAL!

On June 4th, Sola Fide will be hosting a carnival on our campus. There will be games, contests, food, a petting zoo, and much more. You are invited to attend and you are invited to volunteer.

Feedback - Thursday Night Event

This year, we chose to hold our Science Fair on a Thursday night. Most of our events are on Friday nights. We would be happy to hear your feedback about whether or not a Thursday night event worked well for your family. If you have a spare moment, please share your feedback with Mr. Schmiege.

Getting to Know You - The Peacock Family

Meet the Peacocks! Will (AKA Big Willy), Tasha, Isaac, William Jr and Sadie, their dog. Will was raised in Banjul, Gambia (West Africa) and Tasha was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Will and Tasha started dating in 2009 and were married June 1, 2013. Family time for the Peacocks includes watching movies, eating at all kinds of restaurants, taking long drives, and exploring different destinations.

Since moving to Georgia, the Peacocks have made many mini trips to surrounding states. One afternoon, they even traveled to Birmingham, Alabama just for coffee, enjoying the time to drive and talk. Tasha works as a Case Manager in the acute rehab department at Northside Hospital Glancy and Will is a Construction Manager in Construction and Engineering.

The Peacocks came to Sola Fide just after moving to Georgia in July 2018. At that time, many of the nearby schools were full and had waitlists, however the Peacocks’ wonderful neighbor and our church member, Shirley, told them about Sola Fide. Will and Tasha are so grateful they were able to get William in as they love the community outreach at Sola Fide and the feeling of being one large family. Tasha truly appreciates the friendships and bonds between the older kids and the younger kids as they treat one another like brothers and sisters.

The Peacocks usually have family night on Fridays. After a long busy week, they enjoy going out to dinner somewhere, whether for Oz’s pizza, sushi in Suwanee, or Gambian food in Atlanta. When you see the Peacocks, say hello and strike up a conversation.

They both come from rich cultures, very similar but from two different regions. Tasha is full-blooded Navajo and Will is Gambian. The Peacocks are a wonderful family and they would love to share their stories with you!
