Pastries for Parents with Pastor

Adults should have snack time too!

On Friday morning (9/13), we'll have some light snacks and coffee available in the Great Hall. Stick around after drop off, and get to know some of your fellow parents before heading in to work. If you're able, we'd love to have you stay for chapel at 8:45

Picture Orders

Mr. Spears gets better printing and shipping rates for photos if he orders in bulk. The deadline to get the best pricing on photo orders is Monday, September 16. If you have NOT received an email with your order information, PLEASE contact Mr. Schmiege ASAP.

Homework Help Survey

We are always looking for different ways to help our students succeed. One idea we are considering is an after-school homework session. If your OLDEST child is in third grade or older, please take three minutes to fill out the survey at this link: https://forms.gle/cbQQYerZjxFSjFKRA. Even if you don’t imagine that you would use this proposed service, we would like to get a feel for the need across the whole school family.

Today’s Uninvited Guest

Earlier today, someone unknown to the Sola Fide Staff walked through our campus. After a brief, positive interaction, he left campus, only to return after a few minutes. With a little more prompting and defining of our campus boundaries, he left a second time and stayed off campus for the remainder of the day.

I elected not to initiate any of our emergency procedures, but I did notify law enforcement because the person seemed to be at less than 100% concerning his mental health.

I chose to send out a mass text to the school family for two main reasons.

  1. Transparency is good.

  2. A good number of students saw me interact either with this man, the police, or both. Without any context, there may have been some very confusing conversations at home.

I have also submitted a log of my decision-making to the Board of Education for review and critique.

I hope I did not cause too much distress, and for the distress I did cause, I apologize. We are safer when we know each other well and communicate well.

Campus Campout

Sola Fide will be hosting a Campus Campout once again on Friday, September 27. This is a change from an earlier date. We apologize for any inconvenience. We’ll have games, s’mores, snacks, songs, and lots of fun. Mark the date on your calendar and look out for a signup coming soon!
