International Fair + Jollof Wars

The Sola Fide Academy International Fair is ALMOST HERE! It’s this Friday night, March 4th. If you want to reserve space to share a little bit about your family’s background, history, and culture, please use this link to let us know: school.solafide.com/internationalfair. 

The evening will begin at 6:30. If you are bringing something to share or show, and want to come earlier to arrange things, we’ll gladly let you arrive early. 

We’d love to have an interesting playlist full of cultural breadth. If you have an artist, album, or song that would help liven up the room, please text your music suggestions to Gretchen Schmiege. ( 770-713-2798 ). 

Stay-and-Play 

With the return of better weather comes the return of Stay-and-Play. Parents are encouraged to stay at school at pick-up time next Friday. Enjoy a little fellowship with each other while your children enjoy an after-school recess.  

Early Release - March 18th

Our teachers need to do some professional development and curriculum study! This helps our school get stronger. To accommodate this, school will dismiss at 1:00 pm on March 18th. There will be no After School Care on that Friday.  

Spirit Wear is (finally) Here

We just got a big order of spirit wear. There are polos, fleeces, and quarter-zip pullovers. All of them are available in our standard navy and in our new grey. All of them are approved uniform pieces. Polos are $25. Fleeces are $35, and Quarter-zips are $40. If you’re interested, please contact Mr. Schmiege.

High-Impact Fundraising that costs $0

If you owe state income taxes in Georgia, you could help Sola Fide raise money. This opportunity is so impactful, that it could keep tuition costs from rising next year. You can choose to have a large portion of your state income taxes go to Sola Fide instead of to the state. 

The short version of the program looks like this:

  • Sign up to fund scholarships at Sola Fide at georgiasso.com

  • Get confirmation from the Dept. of Revenue

  • Donate to GASSO

  • Sola Fide receives 95% of your donation

  • When you file state income taxes in early 2023, the amount you donated to GASSO will be a credit that is the equivalent of taxes already paid

For more information watch this video or read up at georgiasso.com. As of this week, there is still $21 Million available that parents, grandparents, and other school supporters can claim for the school of their choice. Mr. Schmiege would gladly take you through the process.
