Principal & Middle School Teacher
Jeremiah has been the principal at Sola Fide Lutheran School since 2009. Before serving here, he was an English teacher and missionary in East Asia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Martin Luther College and a Master of Arts in Education from Wisconsin Lutheran College.
In his spare time, you can find him hiking on the Appalachian Trail or other trails in North Georgia. He also loves woodworking.
One of Jeremiah's favorite Sola Fide memories was the "Alice in Wonderland" musical that the eighth grade class wrote for the school's 2016 spring musical.
Jeremiah loves how Sola Fide enables him to get to know students and families on a personal basis. For him, it doubles the joy of sharing the love of Jesus.
Mrs. Jenny is usually the first face that you see at Sola Fide. Her career has taken her through Trade Bank and the Conlan Company. These positions set her up with the skills to run the majority of our recent building program. She's also great at dealing with skinned knees and other student needs.
Miss Schoof is new at Sola Fide as of June 2017. She appreciates the friendliness of the staff and congregation here at Sola Fide. Everyone has made her feel at home and gone over and above to welcome her to Georgia!
Previous to moving to Lawrenceville she lived in New Ulm, MN her whole life. She is excited to start her ministry at Sola Fide and looks forward to sharing God's love with students throughout the year.
In her spare time she enjoys being active and outside, watching and playing sports, traveling, and recently exploring the Atlanta area.
Kathleen Van Orman
Kathleen came to Sola Fide in August of 2012. In her time here, she has taught a variety of combinations of students ranging from kindergarten through fourth grade. Currently she teaches first and second grade.
In her spare time, you can find Kathleen exploring new shops, old town squares, and especially antique stores.
Kathleen loves helping plan the variety of different events that happen at Sola Fide's church and school. One of her favorites was the Grand Opening celebration for our new school building .
She loves the fact that Sola Fide feels like a big family. Some of her favorite times are the moments after school when students and parents want to stay for a bit on the playground and keep enjoying the company of their classmates and teachers even after the school day is over.
Preschool and Kindergarten
Kris taught K-3 at Sola Fide the first year of its existence, 1995-1996. She decided not to continue teaching at that time since the first of her three boys was born in June of 1996. Twenty years later, she was privileged to join the faculty again at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year.
Kris taught at St. John Lutheran School in St. Paul MN for two years in 1991-1993. She had grades 2-3 the first year and grades 3-4 the second year. She has also taught piano lessons for almost 30 years.
Kris loves music. She likes to play piano and organ for fun and for the church services at Sola Fide. She loves singing with her friends and family and just spending time with her family.
Kris's favorite memory from Sola Fide is when her own boys attended. Daily instruction in the Bible and memorizing the Bible verses and memorizing hymns were meaningful things that will stay with them forever. They were taught to love learning. They were expected to put their best effort forward in everything they did. They were taught character skills that will prepare them for the world and prepare them for an eternity in heaven.
Kris especially appreciates the Tuesday and Thursday morning faculty devotions. They unite us around God’s Word and enable us to go into our classrooms relying on Christ. They remind us of the exciting job we have to share the good news of Jesus.
